An "ode" is a poem or song sung in celebration of a person or thing. That's been our mission from day one: to celebrate every woman who walks through our door. At Ode, we marry fashion, philanthropy, art, and community in order to create an inspiring place in which to be and shop. We believe that an inspired woman is an inspiration, and our goal is to make her feel, and dress, that way. Ode donates 5% of profits to local charities, and we host a monthly Arts Night Out event, featuring artists, designers, and musicians.
Kristin believes in wordplay, honesty, and strong coffee. Kids at play, artists at art. The clarity of a cold morning. An old man singing his heart out in a car. Potters and farmers. Silence and music. People in a room with people they love after a hard day. Good company and solitude. Being lost in a forest. Being your own forest. She believes in women who give to themselves as fiercely as they give to others. She opened Ode so women could have a place to do that.
Curator, creator, artist, and go-to style advisor, Jenessa is one of the “founding mothers” of Ode. The sartorial lovechild of Bianca Jagger and Rodarte, she can wear black and a hat like no one else, and she’s never met a piece of glitter she wouldn’t take in. Ever-inspiring because she’s inspired by everything—love, sorrow, light, darkness, the sea, the desert, the imagination and fierce independence of her nine year old—Jenessa is our luminous, guiding light.
Rachel might make you miso if you ask her. Night-runner, baby whisperer, Harley rider, she can talk social justice and style tricks in the same breath. Her self-described signature scent is “baking soda, beeswax, and lavender” and her favorite sound is her nephew’s coos. A straight-from-the-heart woman with some serious strength (you should see her box!), Rachel is one of the most (inner)resourceful people we know…and love.
Abundant heart abounds in Alison. And laughter, and joy, and warmth, and life. How we ever survived before her is a great mystery. But now, life at Ode is "delicious", chocolate in the drawers and Moonflower abloom (alive!) in our windows. She's never met a stain she couldn't remove or a problem she couldn't solve with aplomb, a smile, and a little Dawn soap. Creatures and plants small and tall have all been loved by this woman. She teaches one how to grow.
