Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke
The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Holyoke, Inc. (HBGC) is a nonprofit, community-based, educational, recreational, and cultural institution serving the needs of children -- from school youngsters to teenagers - in Holyoke and surrounding communities. It aims to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens. HBGC was originally established in Holyoke in 1892 as the sixteenth Boys Club in the nation. The Boys & Girls Club of Holyoke’s mission changed in 1992 when the Club amended its bylaws and renovated its facility to admit girls.
The club believes that the positive development of its members is a collective responsibility. Everybody at the Club, from staff and volunteers to Board Members and parents have a role in making sure that all youth grow up with the supports, the opportunities, the experiences, and the relationships that will help them become successful.
Ode is honored to partner with HBGC this month! For more information about the Club, go to http://www.hbgc.org/.
