October 2014 Philanthropy
Rays of Hope
Breast cancer doesn’t just occur in October…it strikes 365 days a year. And, while the Rays of Hope Walk & Run Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer takes place in October, breast cancer awareness month, Rays of Hope is supporting our community every day of the year through programs, services and research at the Rays of Hope Center for Breast Cancer Research in Springfield, MA.
“There are countless inspiring stories in our Rays of Hope community - stories of hope, stories of courage and stories of love. Thank you for helping us to make these stories possible by your support and participation,” says Michelle Shattuck, 2014/2015 Rays of Hope Chair. “I encourage you to participate this year so we can continue to hear many more of these inspiring stories!”
Through the Baystate Health Foundation, one hundred percent of the proceeds of the Walk and 8K run remain in western Massachusetts. Last year, Rays of Hope raised $750,000 to support the Rays of Hope Center for Breast Cancer Research and programs throughout the Baystate Health Breast Network. Since 1994 the Rays of Hope community has helped to raise nearly $12 million toward Breast Cancer Awareness!
Please join in for the 21st annual Rays of Hope – A Walk & Run Toward the Cure of Breast Cancer in Greenfield and Springfield, MA on October 19th. It’s no ordinary day in the park and every step you take will bring us closer to beating breast cancer! For more information, please visit www.baystatehealth.org/raysofhope
